Mopar ’27 Charger: Separate the Factory Package From the Parts You Can Order
Mopar has announced the limited Mopar ’27 Dodge Charger ahead of the 2026 SEMA Show. The announcement is useful beyond the special edition itself: it gives Charger owners a clear example of how to separate a factory-installed appearance-and-performance package from accessories sold on their own.
What comes on the Mopar ’27
According to Mopar’s October 27 announcement distributed through the SEMA Show press portal, the package is offered on two-door 2027 Charger R/T and Scat Pack Plus models. Mopar says it will build 270 examples. The package includes a Direct Connection carbon-fiber front splitter, carbon-fiber hood with a functional scoop, cold-air intake system and carbon-fiber rear spoiler, along with graphics, badges and other special-edition details.
Those package components should not be treated as a blanket fitment claim for every Charger. A factory-installed part on a 2027 special edition is not, by itself, proof that the same piece can be purchased separately or installed on another model year or trim.
Three additional upgrades are a different purchase
Mopar also lists three factory-backed Direct Connection accessories for the show vehicle that it says are offered separately through authorized Dodge performance dealers, not included in the Mopar ’27 package:
- High-performance cat-back exhaust for the 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo SIXPACK engine, part number 77073018AA.
- Performance suspension spring kit, part number 77073045AA.
- 21-by-11-inch Brass Monkey wheels, part number 77073039AA.
The announcement does not establish that every combination of model year, trim, wheel, tire and suspension is approved for each accessory. It also does not establish SMG Speed Shop stock or pricing. Verify the current manufacturer catalog and the exact vehicle configuration before ordering.
A practical buying checklist for Charger owners
- Identify the vehicle precisely. Record model year, two- or four-door body style, R/T or Scat Pack variant, engine, drivetrain and VIN. The limited-package announcement specifically describes two-door 2027 cars.
- Check the exact part number. Use the number for the separate accessory you want; do not infer that a look-alike component from the special-edition package is the same SKU.
- Review the full system. For an exhaust, confirm engine and emissions configuration. For springs, confirm factory suspension hardware and the resulting alignment requirements. For 21-by-11-inch wheels, check offset, brake clearance, tire sizing, load rating and body clearance.
- Confirm installation and warranty details. Factory-backed does not mean every installation or application is identical. Ask the selling dealer or manufacturer for current instructions and warranty terms.
The takeaway is straightforward: the Mopar ’27 is a compelling preview of the new Charger’s personalization potential, but smart parts buying still starts with exact application data. If you are planning a Charger build, contact SMG Speed Shop with your VIN, goals and the part numbers you are considering so the combination can be checked before purchase.
