The COMP Cams Thumpr camshaft delivers a signature lopey idle, strong low- to mid-RPM torque, and improved horsepower, making it ideal for street/strip builds seeking aggressive sound, throttle response, and classic muscle performance. Designed for high-performance street applications, it provides an unmistakable idle quality while pairing exceptionally well with popular upgrades like the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake manifold and TCI Saturday Night Special torque converter. Built withfull-size base circles for added durability, this cam works seamlessly with COMP Cams Evolution hydraulic roller tappets and eliminates the need for dog bones and lifter retainers—components never intended for pre-1985 applications. This camshaft supersedes part number CL31-600-8, delivering proven performance and simplified valvetrain compatibility in one upgraded design.
