SMG High-Torque Mini Starter for Corvette and Camaro V8

The same retrofit OEM ACDelco mini starter offered with the SMG Hot Start Kit, available separately. Its compact housing improves packaging clearance and reduces weight while providing strong cranking performance for hot-start and performance applications.

Vehicle Fitment

• 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette C5: all models, including Z06.
• 2005-2013 Chevrolet Corvette C6: all models, including Grand Sport, Z06, ZR1 and 427 Convertible.
• 2014-2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7: all models, including Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1.
• 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro: V8 applications.
• 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation): V8 SS, LT1 and ZL1 applications, as equipped.

Starter and Adapter

Includes one mini starter. The LS plug-and-play adapter harness is included only for LS-engine retrofit applications that require it, including C5/C6 Corvette and 2010-2015 Camaro V8. It is not included for native Gen V LT applications such as C7 Corvette and 2016-2024 Camaro V8. C5 and C6 Corvette installations use the adapter to connect the Gen V starter to the LS starter wiring. The adapter is for the starter connection; this standalone product does not include the Hot Start Kit's heavy-gauge battery, alternator or ground cables.

The product photo shows the starter and plug adapter; adapter inclusion depends on the application as described above. Starter weight is approximately 6 lb. Check connector engagement and clearance to exhaust components, especially with aftermarket headers or modified wiring.

Corvette coverage through C7 and sixth-generation Camaro V8 fitment are confirmed by SMG. Camaro V6/2.0L turbo and C8 Corvette applications are not included.
