BTR Gen V 5.3 Truck Norris Camshaft and 4-Degree VVT Limiter
BTR-GENV53TN Gen V 5.3 Truck Norris camshaft with one selected 4-degree VVT limiter. This is a two-component package, not a complete cam-swap or DOD/AFM-delete kit.
Choose your installed phaser
- Gen V: cam plus BTR-VVT-GENV-4CAM. BTR labels this option for 2014–early 2019 L83 applications.
- Gen V Plus: cam plus BTR-VVT-GEN-VP-4CAM. BTR labels this option for 2019+ L84 applications.
Engine swaps and replacement phasers can change the required hardware. Verify the actual phaser rather than choosing solely by model year.
Camshaft and supporting parts
Published cam specifications: 21X/22X duration, .540/.540-inch lift, 111 LSA and 14% fuel lobe. BTR specifies BTR91120-16 springs and X12499225-16 lifters; these are not included. Gaskets, pushrods, DOD/AFM-delete parts, tools, fluids, tuning and labor are also not included.
Engine applications
For modified L83/L84 5.3L Gen V truck engine builds and individually verified swaps. Not the Gen III/IV LS, V6 or HEMI Truck Norris cam. Confirm engine RPO, valve clearances, spring setup and calibration. Vehicle-selector entries are engine-family references, not stock direct-fit guarantees.
Native vehicle references include 2014–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with an L83 or L84 5.3L engine. The 5.3L selector alone is not sufficient: confirm the RPO and installed phaser. L82/L8B, V6, 2.7L, diesel, 6.2L and HD engines are not included in this application claim. Other L83/L84 vehicles and swaps require build-specific verification.
Availability: BTR showed the Gen V Plus 4-degree limiter on backorder September 22, 2026. Confirm lead time before scheduling installation.
Shipping: Provisional shipping setup: 16 lb estimated packed weight with a 24 × 4 × 4-inch carton. This is an estimate, not a measured shipment.
